Swimming Lessons

The kids were in swimming lessons at our city pool Mon-Th for 2 weeks!!

Kali already swims like a fish!! She learned strokes, dives and how to swim better in deeper water. She LOVES the slides!!
Braden learned to go under water (only with his spiderman goggles on), swim using the noodle, and he even went down the slide by himself!! He gained a lot of confidence and is a lot more comfortable in the water now!!

VBS 2008

We were blessed to attend an awesome week of Vacation Bible School at our church. We are so thankful for God's leadership in providing faithful, loving teachers who were able to reach the hearts of so many children. 4th of July weekend

We got to celebrate the 4th of July all weekend. The weekend before the 4th we went to Lone Wolf for the parade and fireworks.

On Friday the 4th we went to Altus to Aunt Susan & Uncle Bob's to swim and cook out. The kids spent all day in the pool and were tired and worn out!!

That evening we were off to Granite to Granny's house so the kids could pop fire crackers with Mammy and Pappy, aunts, uncles and cousins. I LOVE to watch the big pretty organized fireworks shows put on by the city.... but, after being hit in the back with a firecracker when I was 14, I am VERY VERY nervous when firecrackers are going off all around me and I don't know which way they are going. So, as usual I ended up watching from inside the house and did not take a single picture :(

On Saturday, we went to Norman to the Merkley's for Kenzie's 7th birthday. We cooked out, played on the water slide, made s'mores and stayed up way too late.

Sunday we headed back home. We had a great weekend. We are truly blessed to have such an awesome family!!

Parade

We went to Lone Wolf for their big 4th of July Celebration. The kids decorated the 4-wheeler and rode it in the parade with Grampy. Braden helped drive and Kali & Lexi threw candy to all the kids. They had a BLAST!! Lone Wolf had the BEST fireworks show we saw this year. It was great to see friends and family we hadn't seen in a while.

Girl Scout Camp

This was our first time to attend Girl Scout Camp. It was one week M-F from 9-3. Kali and Lexi were split up and went with their own age groups. I was in charge of the toddlers (whose parents were helping with camp) so Braden was in my group. Although it was VERY HOT making really long days, the kids had a great time. They went on hikes, picnics, played water games, made crafts, learned new songs and made new friends!!

Braden made painted toast with food coloring and milk, a necklace out of yarn and Fruit Loops, a telescope using the cardboard from toilet paper rolls, went on a scavenger hunt and played until he was absolutely exhausted!! I had a really great time with the toddler group.
